I have noticed that the gas prices were pretty stable for a little while towards the end of the year. This all changed as soon as we got into 2008. We were all forced on the first day of the new year to pay more than three dollars a gallon. Usually it would be on the news whenever the gas prices went up,but there was virtually no warning about this happening. One good thing happened to help this situation, which was the building of a new gas station in Statesville. This new gas station is called Sheetz. They sell the gas at their stations at a cheaper budgeted price. This forces other gas stations to lower their prices to stay competitive. So far everyone in town is going to the new Sheetz gas station. Hopefully, the prices will stay low at this new gas station and we can all purchase gas at an affordable rate.
